Yes, I have Seaborn! And loved it. I liked the way the characters were tortured from the inside out, that they had to CHOOSE that torture to achieve their goals, only some of which were goals they'd chosen for themselves. I'm making that sound complicated, but it's what we do to ourselves everyday. (With the rather notable exception that we're not riding orcas while we do it, but hey.) I'm looking forward to the next story.
(Is the squid bookmark part of the schwag? I've always wanted a pet cuttlefish. Captive specimen turn happy colors when they see people they like and spit water at people they don't like. How cute is that!)

Oh, oh...pick me, pick me!
I loved the art from the previous post, too. Is that something that you produced yourself? It is very well done.

Okay, you're all in for being so quick to comment!
And I still have two more copies to give away.
Jessa: I have squid stickers!
Chad: Yup, everything but the cover art, which is the fantastic work of artist, Tim Lantz.

I'd love a free copy! Seaborn looks great and from the excerpts I've read on your Live Journal Account definitely seems worth picking up. But I live half-way across the world so.... yeah, maybe not! But when I do get back to Canada I do intend to pick up a copy!

I almost have Seaborn. I have a sneak preview of the first 10 chapters. Right now there are two different stories, that I know will eventually connect, but I'm most curious how they're related in their past.

Hello "Chris", Actually, I saw Your Sticker on the back of a Van,in Victoria, B.C.Said something about Your Squid being smarter than an Honour Student. That perked my interest, as I've always been interested in Squid's, particularly, the Giant one's, which led me to your Web-Site, and all the Link's. I have'nt read your book, "YET", as I don't have it, and will look, and I have'nt hit all your links yet, but found your Art Work to be Very Interesting, as it to Perks my interest. I Draw similar work to your piece called "Seed". Mostly abstract, and a lot of Geometric shapes, as my Kids use Prints of them to Fill with Color.Amazingly enough, I've actually sold some of them, but have'nt pursued it, as my work keeps me to busy. My Question is, do you do your own art work for your books, Covers & Illustrations etc.?? and have you ever put your artwork on Display ?? I'd certainly enjoy a copy of your Book, should you feel generous enough to send me one, and will be watching for future Novel's. Take care, Michael.

Hi Michael,
That is so cool that someone has my squid sticker on a van in British Columbia--and that you came here because of it! I paint and draw while I write, mainly scenes and character studies, but I leave the cover art to the publisher. Seaborn's cover is by the wonderful Tim Lantz. I would be interested in doing an illustrated version of SEABORN at some point. I am currently working on a graphic version of one of my novels, but it'll take a while to see where that goes--only about fifteen pages into it right now.
You're in the drawing for a copy of SEABORN. I'll post an update this Tuesday!

Thanks, Wendy, for passing along the review link!

Thanks R.A! The title comes from Greek, Thalassogenes, literally "seaborn," which is what I call my people from the sea, not mermaid, merfolk, etc.
