No question about it…
Okay, we have this bit of winter they're calling a "blizzard" rolling by, dumping snow and blowing wind like a demon…and on Valentines Day. Here's the Weather.com headline: "Furious winter storm pounding Northeast."
Rain, sleet, snow, gloom of night, Alice is outside snowthrowing our driveway. Now, there is a fun aspect to operating machinery that can throw hunks of snow fifteen feet in the air. I admit it. We're from California, and the first winter here, we were like, no let me run it for a little bit, you got to the clear the drive last time, nah-uh, yeah-huh.
Today, it's eighteen degrees F (-7.7 C) with 30 mile per hour gusts. It's wicked effing cold out there, and Alice is clearing off our driveway in it--and I'm taking pictures! What's that hon? She's yelling so I can hear her over the wind. Un...grate...something and then something that starts with the letter F. What's that? I can't hear you. I'll be right back. Just going to post about how cute you look running the snowthrower in the middle of a blizzard.
Here's the storm: (Click the pics to see the large versions)
Here's my cutie out in it:
I'm really posting to say that Alice is the sweetest, coolest, snowthrower operator on the planet. She encourages me to spend raftloads of time writing, painting, and all of that other non-productive artsy/bloggy stuff. I love you. Happy Valentines Day, Alice.
Unstoppable. Not even GLOM OF NIT can stand in her way. (A little something for the Discworlders out there).
Word of the day: Sisyphean.
