I've been goofing around the edges of podcasting, creating an audio file for my short story in this month's issue of The Harrow, and dabbling with a couple feed building apps, e.g., poderator. I then went and manually added a bunch of iTunes podcasting tags. I've submitted the feed to four or five podcast directories, podcast.net, podcastalley, ipodder.org and Apple iTunes. If you Google for the story's name, "diminisher of peace" you get The Harrow, my blog, PKP Open archives, and podcast.net. All the pod directories indexed it right away--within their own searches, and Google indexed podcast.net's directory, but I couldn't find it in iTunes. I browsed around for the cause, and found that there's a waiting period, newly submitted podcasts are reviewed, etc. Someone suggested that I manually add the podcast feed to my iTunes (the locally running app). I did that, I upgraded to 5.0, and within a day my story's listed at iTunes. I'm not certain what triggered this, enough time passed, a review was completed, a new version of the app, manually subscribing to the feed. Anyway, I'm there in the search results, and I have pictures to prove it:
