Progress shot for "3 Diamond"

Finished sketching last night--did this on a scrap piece of birch.  It's a little rough around the edges where the circular saw got enthusiastic, some chipping.  But this piece has some nice grain, and one flaw that I'm going to blend into the work.

What do you think of her panther skull armor design?  In the future armor's going to be lighter, more flexible, with colors that shift with the environment and impact absorbing proximity fields--and you don't need tank-like shielding in a firefight.  So the whole military design field's wide open to more imaginative patterns.
